Invoice Ninja is probably one of the coolest pieces of software to add to your arsenal when freelancing or working with contractual small business type work. In addition to the cool add-ons, it works wonderfully in conjunction with PayPal and Stripe. Another great feature is when you send out the invoices you can see when they’ve been delivered, read, and paid. Invoice Ninja is FREE but you can upgrade to their Pro service for more features at $50.00 a year.
Xero:
Xero is another cool piece of software that affords you luxury accounting and invoicing options that don’t hurt the wallet too much. They are very mindful of small businesses and their needs, especially in the fact that they allow you to send recurring invoices, perform payroll services, and prepare W2’s and I9’s. It is also compatible with PayPal, Square, and other well-known payment services. The starter plan for Xero is $9 per month.
Invoicera:
Invoicera is another very likable piece of software that allows you to accomplish a lot with minimal headaches and frustration. This is definitely for those who don’t enjoy keeping their own books and cash flow information as well as online payments. It’s pretty much tailored to fit all of your needs whether you’re a large company or a freelancer working in your pajamas. The custom invoicing reports are a cool feature as well. Invoicera starts at FREE for three or fewer clients then moves to $19.95 a month, $39.95, or $99.95 for the premium package.
